daksforkids® was born not long after my daughter Bella was, in October  2007. I found that I was doing a lot of my shopping for her online as it was easy, quick and actually quite fun. I didn’t have to worry about packing up the car with baby bags and prams just to go to my nearest shopping centre. In my many searches for clothes for Bella I realised that there was a gap in the market for reasonably priced 100% cotton ‘funky coloured’ pants.

After doing some research, discussing it through with my ever-supportive husband and talking to my Mother’s Group and friends I decided to take to the plunge and start my own online business specialising in quality kids clothing. I began my range with daks pants and due to demand for the funky prints, soon introduced daks dresses.

The last two years have been really rewarding. As well as the launch of both pants and dresses, we’re about to start an overseas line. We’ve also added another beautiful baby (our little man Aiden) to our family and I’m now also part of an amazing network of like-minded mums in business called Mums Biz who offer fantastic products, contacts, support, ideas and best of all, a true understanding of how challenging it is to run a business and a family!

I wouldn’t have got this far if it weren’t for some very helpful people. You know who you are and I can’t thank you enough (not only for allowing your beautiful children to be my daks models but for all your encouragement too!).
